Limp Bizkit guitarist Wes Borland paid tribute to Metallica by dressing as a skull-faced young James Hetfield from the 1980s during a performance at Empower Field at Mile High.
Borland’s costume included a “Metal Up Your Ass” t-shirt and white high-tops, capturing the essence of the specific era of Metallica he was channeling.
The Denver show marked the band’s final appearance on the M72 tour, where they supported Metallica in various cities alongside Ice Nine Kills.
Despite James Hetfield’s past comments about Limp Bizkit being “a little cartoony,” Borland’s tribute at the Denver show showcased a deep respect and admiration for Metallica, creating a memorable moment on the M72 tour.
