Queens of the Stone Age are releasing an audio version of their concert film Alive in the Catacombs on digital platforms and limited-edition vinyl.
The vinyl edition of Alive in the Catacombs includes a gatefold jacket with foil print, a 24-page booklet of behind-the-scenes photos, and is individually foil-stamped and numbered through 5,000 copies.
The five-song performance featured the band’s lineup augmented by a three-piece string section and unconventional percussion instruments like chains and chopsticks.
The audio recording was done without overdubs or edits by producer Mark Rankin, François-Xavier Delaby, Henri d’Armancourt, and Alban Lejeune, with final mixing by Rankin, Homme, and Shuman.
The concert film Alive in the Catacombs is available for streaming on the band’s website, along with a documentary, Alive in Paris and Before, coinciding with the band’s rescheduled US tour dates.
