San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie has announced plans for a three-day Dead & Company concert to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Grateful Dead. Pending approval by the city’s Recreation and Park Commission, the shows are set for August 1–3 at the Polo Fields in Golden Gate Park — a symbolic homecoming for the band that helped define the city’s counterculture.
Dead & Company features original Grateful Dead members Bob Weir and Mickey Hart, along with John Mayer, Oteil Burbridge, Jeff Chimenti, and Jay Lane. This would mark their first Bay Area shows since Phil Lesh’s passing in 2024, and the first local performances since their sold-out 2023 Oracle Park run.
The concerts are expected to draw up to 60,000 attendees per day and deliver a major boost to the local economy. Tickets will be available soon via deadandcompany.com, with dates and pricing to be announced following commission approval on May 15.
